Broadband Light (BBL) Therapy: IPL for Pigmentation and Skin Renewal

Skin Rejuvenation and Pigmentation Correction

BBL is one of the most effective skin laser treatments available for correcting sun damage, age spots, redness, and uneven tone, with no downtime.

Unlike traditional lasers that use a single wavelength, BBL delivers hundreds of wavelengths simultaneously, targeting a wider range of concerns in a single session. The light penetrates the skin, targets excess pigment and visible blood vessels, and triggers the body’s natural repair process. Collagen production increases, and skin looks clearer, smoother, and more even in the weeks that follow.

BBL treats sun damage, age spots, freckles, rosacea, redness, and uneven skin tone. It can also be used on the back of the hands, making it a natural complement to hand rejuvenation treatments.

Sessions take as little as 15 minutes. No downtime. Most patients complete two to five treatments spaced three to four weeks apart, with annual touch-ups to maintain results.

Note: BBL is designed for untanned, lighter skin tones. Patients with darker skin are encouraged to explore our Micro Laser Peel or ProFractional laser resurfacing options.

Laser Skin Resurfacing: ProFractional and Micro Laser Peel

Sapphire Advanced Aesthetics offers two powerful facial resurfacing options using the Sciton laser platform: ProFractional Laser Treatment and Micro Laser Peel. Both deliver meaningful improvements in skin texture, tone, and the appearance of fine lines.

ProFractional Laser Resurfacing

ProFractional laser resurfacing is the right choice for patients who want more significant improvement in skin texture, fine lines, acne scarring, or deeper sun damage.

The ProFractional laser creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, triggering collagen production and resurfacing the outer layer. It treats only a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving surrounding tissue intact for faster healing. The result is smoother, tighter, more radiant skin that continues to improve over three to six months.

It treats fine lines and wrinkles, textural irregularities, acne scars, uneven tone, and rough or dull skin. It can be used on the face, neck, and decolletage, and customized to other areas as needed.

Treatment takes 15 to 60 minutes. Most patients return to work within three to five days. A series of one to five treatments spaced three to six weeks apart produces the best results.

Micro Laser Peel

The Micro Laser Peel is a precise laser skin treatment that removes the outermost layer of skin to reveal fresher, smoother, more vibrant skin beneath.

It is more effective than microdermabrasion and most chemical peels, and requires far less downtime than traditional CO2 resurfacing. Most patients are back to their routine within three to four days, which is why it is often called the weekend peel.

It addresses wrinkles, fine lines, large pores, sun spots, brown spots, discoloration, and overall sun damage. It can treat the face, neck, chest, and hands.

Dr. Smith recommends two to three treatments per year to maintain results, which typically last three to five years. Exosomes can be added immediately after treatment to optimize results and reduce downtime.

Hand Rejuvenation: Radiesse and Renuva for the Hands

A refreshed face and aging hands rarely go together. Volume loss, prominent veins, crepey skin, and age spots can give away years that your face no longer shows.

At Sapphire Advanced Aesthetics, Dr. Smith addresses hand rejuvenation with two of the most advanced injectable options available: Radiesse and Renuva.

Radiesse®

This is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler that immediately restores lost volume in the backs of the hands while stimulating the body’s own collagen production for ongoing improvement. Treatment takes less than 20 minutes. Results are visible immediately and last a year or more in most patients.

Renuva®

This unique injectable utilizes an allograft adipose matrix that acts as a natural scaffold, recruiting the body’s own fat cells to gradually restore soft, natural-looking volume over three to six months. Results can last for years and feel completely natural because they integrate with your own tissue.

BBL can also be added to address age spots and pigmentation on the hands, creating a more comprehensive treatment.

Morpheus8: Microneedling with Radiofrequency for Skin Rejuvenation

Morpheus8 is an FDA-approved treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to improve skin texture, firmness, and overall tone. Tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries while radiofrequency heat stimulates deeper collagen production for more noticeable and longer-lasting rejuvenation.

It can treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and skin laxity on the face, neck, jawline, abdomen, arms, and thighs.

Treatment typically takes 15 to 60 minutes depending on the area treated, plus time for numbing cream. Most patients experience mild redness and swelling for one to three days with little downtime.

Results continue to improve over several months as collagen production increases. Dr. Smith typically recommends a series of three treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart for optimal results. Exosomes can also be added to enhance healing and support advanced rejuvenation.

Advanced Skin Rejuvenation, Laser Resurfacing, Pigmentation Correction & Hand Rejuvenation FAQs

Which treatment is right for me?

The right treatment depends on your specific skin concerns, skin type, and goals. BBL is ideal for pigmentation and sun damage on lighter skin tones. ProFractional and Micro Laser Peel address texture, fine lines, and scarring through laser resurfacing. Morpheus8 targets skin laxity, texture, and deeper remodeling through radiofrequency microneedling. Radiesse and Renuva restore lost volume, particularly in the hands and face. Many patients benefit from combining treatments. Dr. Smith will evaluate your skin and build a personalized plan during your complimentary consultation.

Yes. Many patients achieve their best results through combination protocols. Common pairings include Morpheus8 with BBL for comprehensive facial rejuvenation or Radiesse or Renuva with BBL for hand rejuvenation that addresses both volume and sun damage. Dr. Smith will advise on the safest and most effective sequencing based on your plan.

Most men and women in good overall health who are not smokers and have realistic expectations are candidates for one or more of these treatments. Certain treatments have specific considerations: BBL is not recommended for darker or tanned skin tones; Morpheus8 is not suitable for patients with active acne; and injectables like Radiesse and Renuva require patients to avoid blood thinners in the days prior. Candidacy for each treatment will be reviewed during your consultation with Dr. Smith.

Most treatments are very tolerable. Topical numbing cream is commonly used to improve comfort, and patients typically describe the sensation as mild heat, tingling, snap, or light pressure during treatment.

Preparation instructions vary by treatment but may include avoiding excessive sun exposure, certain skincare products, and active irritation before your appointment. Specific instructions will be provided during scheduling.

Consistent skincare, daily sunscreen use, healthy lifestyle habits, and maintenance treatments can all help extend and maintain your results over time.

Absolutely. Every treatment plan at Sapphire Advanced Aesthetics is personalized based on your skin condition, goals, lifestyle, and desired results.
